6 injured in overnight storms in Mississippi

JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) — Overnight storms injured at least six people in north Mississippi.

Violent storms swept through the northern portion of the state and several other states Wednesday night, April 2 and Thursday morning.

Gov. Tate Reeves reported three injuries in Tippah County, two in Tate County and one in Marshall County. He reported no deaths as of Thursday afternoon.

Marshall County reported damage to 26 homes. Tate County reported damage to 26 homes. Tippah County reported damage to 13 homes, and Bolivar County reported damage to one home. DeSoto County reported damage to one home.

Authorities continue to assess damage reports, and the number of damaged homes could grow or shrink.

Anyone with storm damage should self-report using the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency's website.
