L&T secures large orders for power transmission projects in India, Middle East
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Tuesday announced that its Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) vertical has secured large orders—valued between ₹2,500 crore and ₹5,000 crore—for power infrastructure projects in India and abroad.
According to the company, in India, the vertical has won an order for setting up a 765kV Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) in western India. It has also secured a turnkey contract for the construction of a transmission line associated with power evacuation in the same region.
In Saudi Arabia, L&T has received orders for the installation of two 380kV overhead transmission lines exceeding 130 route kilometres. These lines are aimed at ensuring reliable power supply to townships near Riyadh.
The company further added that in the UAE and Qatar, it has won turnkey contracts for the construction, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of two 132/11kV GIS substations and one 132kV GIS substation, respectively. Additional orders have also been received for ongoing projects in India and Oman.
